Review - The Austrian Inn
The
Austrian Inn
Because it's closed during the Winter when we recieved word that the Austrian Inn was opening again in early March everyone got really excited.
The Austrian Inn is a favorite amongst our group and one of the very few places serving anything different than the regular Yarmouth deep-fried-fest.

When it comes to food and the Town of Yarmouth you're pretty limited on what you
can get. The Austrian Inn without a doubt is the only REAL restaurant in town.
This means that when you go to the Austrian Inn you can actually get something a
little different than what everyone else is serving. The chef experiments with
new recipes, there's still a love of food there that every other place seems to
have lost. The owners obviously aren't afraid of trying something new and
exciting when it comes to their menus. This is a big thing to stand alone in a
town of many other restaurants all doing the same old menus.
Immediately after stepping into the restaurant you feel like you really are in an Austrian Inn. It's warm and cozy, and it really looks like an "old country" building. It's really like stepping into another world. The staff are always friendly and helpful , and quick to make suggestions if you need it. They're very knowledgeable about their very large menu and drink list. The Austrian Also has one of the largest drink lists in town if you're into that kind of thing by the way.
We've gone there as a group a number of times and the food has always been nothing less than spectacular. A couple good choices are the Austrian Goulash, the Schnitzel, and if you're REALLY hungry the always delicious Farmers Platter. My friend and I are practically obsessed with their creamed sauerkraut which is more delicious than you would ever imagine wine, cream, and cabbage to be. Their regular Sauerkraut is pretty amazing too.
If you go on a Friday night you'll also get the option to try their buffet which has the most options I've seen anywhere. The dessert table (of which there are two!) has every tasty and fancy dessert you could probably imagine. The real treat of going on a Friday evening is that the head chef himself will come out from time to time to tell you all about what he's prepared. You can tell this man loves to cook, and he is incredibly friendly. He is a REAL chef, and my hat goes off to him. The owners too are often there on Friday evenings and they'll usually talk to you on your way in and out. I don't think I've ever even SEEN the owners of most of the other places we go around here.
I really can't say enough good things about this place and their staff. I give this an ABSOLUTE 5 out of 5 stars for Food, Atmosphere, and Service. If you are in Yarmouth and you don't eat here, you've missed out BIG TIME. The prices are very reasonable, you get more and pay a little less than say a Boston Pizza.
This is THE place to be, thank you Austrian Inn!
